New Britain Drillers are a drilling contractor who have been based in Kokopo ENBP since 1995. We are currently the only drilling contractor licensed under the Australian water drilling licensing act, License #2806, Class 2, we are members of the “ Australian Drilling Industry Association” and therefore all our work is completed to the exacting standard, “ Minimum Completion Requirements for water bores in Australia and New Zealand”. We have worked all throughout the country for Waterpng, various government agencies, private enterprise and the public sector. We came here from Australia to construct the Kokopo borefield for “Waterboard” as they were known then and decided to stay.

We have a large warehouse, workshop and store in Kokopo to support our operation, we carry a huge range of submersible bore pumps, motors and controls and have a vast range of tooling and equipment to not only construct bores but to also service them, such as cleaning and re-habilitation and supply and installation of pumps and motors.

Over the past 25 years NBD has drilled and constructed town water supplies/borefields for Waterpng in the following towns; Rabaul,Kokopo, Kavieng, Lae, Namatanai, Kimbe, Kainantu, Henganoffi, Mt.Hagen and Palmalmal.

NBD also have the only geophysical logging tool in the country which we run in deep holes to establish the optimum location to place our screens and our logging technician travels to Australia regularly to update his skills.

NBD also has the largest range of downhole drilling tooling and equipment in the country, being licensed in Australia we regularly attend drilling workshops keeping our skills updated and use the most modern methodologies and procedures when drilling in challenging formations.
